Two Dads, One Co-Parent: Julien & Marc-André's Story

Julien and Marc-André had been together for eight years when they decided to become fathers. Surrogacy felt financially out of reach, and they wanted their child to know their co-parent personally, not remain anonymous.

They created a joint profile on CoParentBaby, explicit about wanting a woman who wanted to be an involved mother, not simply a donor. After a few months, they connected with Chloé, a nurse who had always wanted a child but not a traditional partnership.

"We spent nearly six months getting to know her before deciding to move forward," Marc-André says. "We talked through everything: who our son would call 'mom,' how holidays would work between three households, what would happen if one of us wanted to relocate."

Their son is now three. He spends most weekdays with Julien and Marc-André, and weekends with Chloé, with flexibility built in for everyone's schedules.

"He has three parents who show up for him," Julien says. "That's the whole point."
