The Keys to a Solid Co-Parenting Agreement
Sophie and Marc met on CoParentBaby and quickly agreed on the essentials. What took longer was putting it all in writing. "We spent nearly two months on our agreement before even trying to conceive," says Sophie.
Their document covered custody schedule, decision-making on health and schooling, financial contributions, what happens if one of them relocates or starts a new romantic relationship, and how disagreements would be resolved. "Writing it down forced us to have the hard conversations early, not during a crisis."
They both recommend having the agreement reviewed by a family lawyer. "It's not about distrust. It's about giving your child a stable, predictable framework from day one."
